Offering a pure wellness experience, the Cristal Spa areas at Au Coeur du Village in La Clusaz and the Impérial Palace in Annecy pursue perfection by putting their expertise. And nothing, right down to the smallest details, is left to change...
 
We all sometimes need to stop the clock, reconnect with certain sensations and recharge our batteries. For just a few hours, we can give in to the relaxing pace of the mountains or the banks of Lake Annecy. This time we grant ourselves prolongs the benefits of downhill races in Aravis Mountains, and draws out the magic of strolls through the flower-covered streets of Annecy.

Florence Kowalski, founder of the Spa Boosting service, couldn’t agree more. Describing herself as a « messenger of well-being,» she assists the Groupe PVG in creating premium-quality spa experiences. Her dual training in marketing and beauty services also mean she can pinpoint the needs and expectations of both a demanding clientele and the spa employees. « What I like the most at Cristal Spa is the human approach and the working conditions that mean staff are respected. This has an undeniably positive effect on the atmosphere and the quality of treatments, »
says Florence. She also occasionally provides treatments herself, and agreed to show us around the two Cristal Spa spaces.
 

SPORTY CHALET CHIC IN LA CLUSAZ

Nestled in the only five-star establishment in the Aravis Mountains and built in 2010 at the same time as the hotel, Cristal Spa Au Coeur du Village boasts interior design crafted with the finest materials such as light wood, Aravis stone, and solid oak for the parquet flooring. A delicately-designed alpine atmosphere reigns throughout the 450 m² space, which features six treatment rooms, a sauna, a steam room, and a vast pool with a jacuzzi area and a swimming machine, all bathed in natural light from the large bay windows. The steam room is a nod to the Group’s founder, Gaston Pollet-Villard. As he used to work in the import of semi-precious stones, this space has been designed in the style of a crystal cave with a star-studded sky.

The perfect setting for leaving your stresses behind. This spa is only open during the winter and the summer, and specializes in treatments for athletes – skiers and hikers in particular. These include the reinvigorating Deep Cristal massage created by our masseurs using Cinq Mondes products to tone, hydrate, and boost the elasticity of your skin while effectively removing tension.

Awakening of Senses is another expert treatment, inspired by different atmospheres, music, and scents. « Everything here is made to protect your body and encourage relaxation. The pool, the sauna and the steam room can be enjoyed for one hour before the treatments. This is great for preparing your body and skin,» says Florence. She then leads us to one of this year’s new developments, a totally revamped relaxation space designed to create an atmosphere of lightness with hanging seats, swings, and “egg chairs.”

By deciding to collaborate with the Carita and Cinq Mondes brands from the very beginning, Cristal Spa immediate chose the very height of quality. The first space is associated with flawless performance, while the second bathes in ancestral tradition and natural beauty.

The spa also offers a treatment designed with the help of Raphaëlle Monod Sjoström, Olympic medallist and founder of the Snö Eternelle brand. Her Cristal Snö Eternelle treatment is a deeptissue massage whose benefits include cramp relief and the prevention of different pains associated with intense sporting activity.

« In both La Clusaz and Annecy, men will also find specific treatments adapted to all skin and body types ,» says Florence.


AN AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN ANNECY

Inaugurated in 2016 on the banks of Lake Annecy, Cristal Spa at the Impérial Palace spans 600 m² of elegantly designed space. This unique setting and relaxing atmosphere create the perfect conditions for enjoying treatments. Voted Best Alpine Spa by Gala magazine in 2019, the spa offers remarkably sophisticated architecture with a glass-bottomed pool, a steam room whose ceiling lights intertwine like strings of DNA, and a relaxation space with a herbal tea bar and comfortable, designer beds.

Renaissance paintings depicting bathing scenes can be admired from the reception to the six treatment rooms, which include one for scrub treatments with a heated table and chromotherapy options, and two spaces for dual massages. « Cristal Spa, which became a brand with the opening of this second space, is passionate about the comprehensive effects of its treatments. They are designed to positive for both body and mind,» says Florence.
The sensorial shower, which features a variety of temperatures, spray intensities, colours and scents, is the perfect illustration of this ambition.

Another example is the Cristal Ephémère treatment, combining a body scrub and wrap, designed by Spa manager Elsa Régent in collaboration with Cinq Mondes. And as Cristal Spa Annecy is open all year round, this new treatment changes throughout the seasons to offer adapted benefits: detoxing and hydrating in spring; slimming and toning in summer; hydrating and smoothing in autumn; and purifying and detoxing in winter.
